Capcom has officially issued a warning regarding unauthorized data modifications in Monster Hunter Wilds, confirming that some players have been altering game data related to High Rank environment Investigations, Field Surveys, and other content.
Unauthorized Data Modification Warning
According to the notice, these modifications can seriously affect normal gameplay and even render the game unplayable. Capcom strongly advises players to avoid participating in any quests they suspect may have been modified, and to exit the game immediately without saving if they realize they are in one.
An official set of criteria has been released to help you identify potentially modified data. You can find those details in the announcement on the official Monster Hunter Wilds website, or on the following recap:

This warning specifically applies to Ver. 1.010 and may be updated in future patches. New updates may increase the number of rewards or monsters in a single quest, which would also change the standard conditions accordingly.
Capcom Takes Action Against Cheaters
In addition to addressing data modifications, Capcom has announced a firm stance against cheaters in Monster Hunter Wilds, starting with the recent Challenge Quest “Doshaguma of the Hollow”.
The quest has officially ended, and Capcom will conduct a 1-to-2-week review period to verify the final ranking results. During this time, any fake clear times will be investigated and removed. Once this review is complete, results and actions taken will be announced via official channels:
- Cheating will be judged both by clear times and through internal investigations.
- Accounts found cheating will face restrictions, including disqualification from rankings and the removal of event rewards.
- Bans will continue to be issued to confirmed cheaters.
- Players can report suspected cheaters by accessing their Hunter Profile screen in-game and selecting the Report option.

Capcom also took a moment to thank the Monster Hunter Wilds community for achieving success through skill and perseverance — reminding everyone that fair play is what keeps the hunt fun and rewarding for all.
