The New World: Aeternum community is still in shock about the recent news that the game will be closing its doors in 2026. Some are angry, and many are not sure what to do next. They shared a passion for the world of Aeternum, and many have made strong relationships along the way.
Whether you’ve played New World for one hour or a few thousand, it’s safe to say that you likely believe the game didn’t deserve an ending like this (especially with the news being announced just two weeks after their recent Nighthaven expansion).
When the news was announced, many players decided that it would be their last day in Aeternum, and they ended it the way they started – by setting up a camp and being surrounded by hundreds of other players.
While some set up camps, other celebrated together and rejoiced the many memories they made together.
Some servers even took group photos together to capture themselves in Aeternum one last time.
