The next wave of the “Expeditions Unleashed” event is now live in New World: Aeternum, introducing an overpowered Empress Zhou into the open world! Empress Zhou will be exploring throughout Aeternum up until September 15, and can be identified in your world map by a large skull icon.
By grouping up with other players and taking down Empress Zhou, you’ll get the chance of receiving a handful of unique rewards, including:
- Normal Reward Box (Unlimited per day)
- 100%: 1 Weapon, Armor, or Jewelry piece
- 66%: Gear Score 700 Procedural Weapon or Armor
- 33%: Named Legendary Gear Score 710 Item
- 100%: 2–3 Level-appropriate Potions
- 100%: 1 Weapon, Armor, or Jewelry piece
- Bonus Reward Box (3 per day)
- 100%: Named Legendary Gear Score 710 Item
- 100%: 1 Obsidian Gypsum
- 100%: 25 Dark Matter
- 25%: Named Legendary Gear Score 725 Weapon (Taiyings Heart Ice Gauntlet)
- 10%: Jaeger Skin Set Box (1 per week)
- Contains 1 piece of the Jaeger Set:
- Jaeger’s Cunning (Head)
- Jaeger’s Spite (Chest)

There is also a new “pity system” implemented to prevent unlucky streaks, guaranteeing the following after opening 12 bonus reward boxes:
