Season 10 of New World: Aeternum introduced a new type of perk known as an “Infix Perk”. These perks are extremely powerful and provide a unique buff to your character which can be somewhat similar to what you can expect from certain Artifacts.
To give you a better idea, below are some of these Infix perks:
- Critical Storm: Once every 0.5s, when you crit a target, gain a stack of storm charge on self, lasting 13s. At 6 storm charges, hitting a target with an ability will consume all of the charges and trigger a bolt of lightning dealing an additional 100% damage.
- Close Quarters: Light and heavy attacks with ranged weapons within 10m deal 20% extra damage, but you also receive 5% increased attacker base damage.
- Speedy Recovery: Gain a 10% haste for 4s after exiting the exhausted state.
There are many, many other Infix perks that exist in the game, and they can lead to a handful of unique benefits added to any build out there.
Where to Get Infix Perk Items
There are only a few ways to get pieces of equipment with Infix perks, and you’re going to need to get lucky for them all! Currently, some of the ways to get items with Infix perks on them are from completing mutated expeditions, either of the 10-man raids, the PvP rewards track, or, most commonly, through Elite Chest Runs (ECRs).
However, there are only certain locations throughout Aeternum that have the chance of getting these Infix items from their elite chests. These areas are highlighted in the video below.
If you ever get an item with an Infix perk on it, it’s recommended to save it within your storage, as you may eventually want to use a build that may benefit from the item in the future (if it doesn’t already)!
