This month’s community Q&A session for New World: Aeternum is officially live, and there were a handful of updates (and potentially Easter eggs) on what’s coming next for New World: Aeternum!
The format below is organized in a question then answer format, highlighting some of the most important topics discussed in this month’s session. To listen to the full session, watch the video below.
Q: What do you guys view as the end game loop?
A: A combination of both PvP and PvE. PvP is emergent and skill-based, while PvE is finite but evolving. Season 10 will add even more options for end game content.
Q: What are your intentions to bring NEW players to the game, rather than just maintaining the existing customer base? I saw the New World PS Plus promotion this month, which is awesome, but we need more of it!
A: The PS Plus promotion has been a big success, and the team is focused on developing more end game content, and focusing on re-engaging previous players on returning to Aeternum.
Q: The gathering system is pleasant, for sure, and I dig it. Are there any thoughts to making additional pleasant/cozy systems? What’s a settlement without farms and trading after all.
A: Yes – farming is currently prototyped, but is not prioritized over progression overhaul.
Q: Are there any plans to give dedicated PvP players a way to reasonably obtain good gear?
A: Yes – the PvP rewards track is being revamped in Season 10, and PvP will offer viable 800 gearscore gear. (This is the potential spoiler alert – as of today, the max gearscore is only 725!)
Q: Are there plans to release more weapons?
A: Yes, there are three currently in development, and we will learn more about one of them soon.
Q: Is there any more information about the future procedural expeditions?
A: You’ll hear more soon, but it is heavily influence by dungeon crawler boardgames, with random pre-designed rooms, quests, and more.
Q: Are seasonal servers no longer happening?
A: Short term, they’ll be on pause. We may pick them up again down the road, but right now the primary focus is the core gameplay.
Q: Will server merges happen before Season 10?
A: Yes – server merges will happen shortly after the launch of Season 9.
Q: Will there be fresh start servers with the launch of Season 10?
A: No.
Q: Will the “Fresh Start” server tags be dropping?
A: Yes – scheduled to drop on July 28, 2025.
Q: Will more feminine skins and cosmetics be available eventually?
A: Yes – Season 9 specifically will add more feminine outfits and a new idle pose – stay tuned!
