Although the next season of New World: Aeternum is actually Season 9, the team did share a sneak preview of some of the content currently planned for Season 10 and beyond through a “Living Roadmap”. The idea behind a living roadmap is that it highlights the current plans for specific seasons and the future and has the very high possibility of having things adjusted from it as the development of each piece changes over time.
The current New World: Aeternum living roadmap (as of July 2025) is highlighted below.

New World Season 10
As you can see from the graph above, there are some MAJOR updates planned for Season 10, including a new zone, new raid, new twist to expeditions (extraction), set bonuses, next gen “Umbral Shard” system, customizable HUD options, and more!
Usually, every year there is a major update and/or expansion around the October timeframe for New World, and it sounds like Season 10 will be the big news this year. Based on the many updates listed, it looks like this will likely transform the current state of the game and definitely change up a large majority of the best builds that currently exist.
The Future of New World: Aeternum
We also get a quick glance at future updates that are currently listed as “In Exploration”, which are ideas that are very early-stage and are being explored, but not guaranteed. These ideas range from additional new raids, weapons, artifacts, and zones, as well as the potential of adding ranked PvP options, company storage, group-based soul trials, account-wide progression, and more! In regard to what will actually get formally added though, only time will tell!
