Ever since the official announcement of what’s coming in Season 10 of New World, players across all servers have prioritized farming one named mob and killing it every 5 minutes over and over again. If you’re playing New World: Aeternum, or plan on returning in Season 10, then you may also want to consider joining in on the fun and start farming this mob?
What mob you may ask? Well, we’re talking about Mordici the Mortician.
Why Farm Mordici the Mortician?
The recent announcement of what’s coming to Season 10 of New World included a mention of an all-new 10-man raid called the Isle of Night. Within the post itself, AGS called out the following:
“Isle of Night is a new 10-person endgame raid. The raid is set in a once magnificent kingdom whose inhabitants have now fallen Lost. Similar in length and format to Hive of Gorgons, this raid features three new bosses and multiple new enemy types, light puzzles, and set piece encounters. This raid will be some of the hardest content in Season 10, demanding players gear-up and coordinate to succeed.”
Notice the word “Lost” we highlighted above. This is proof that the majority of the mobs within this new raid will be within the Lost category, meaning that there will be a much higher demand in Major Lost Combat Trophies.
A Major Lost Combat Trophy increases damage to Lost types by 5%, and each player can have a total of three of them to take advantage of an overall 15% damage boost (when placing one in each of their three houses).
Upon death, Mordici the Mortician drops an item known as the Ephemeral Seal Shard. Once you have 100 of these seal shards, you can craft an Ephemeral Seal, which is the most important ingredient when crafting a Major Lost Combat Trophy!
There is also a very small chance of getting a full Ephemeral Seal upon killing Mordici the Mortician, so if you’re feeling lucky, go check it out!
Mordici the Mortician Location
Mordici the Mortician is located in the upper right corner of Ebonscale Reach (at the point of interest called “Skysong Crypt”. Once you arrive to this location, you will likely see a large number of players standing around in a specific spot (indicating the spawn spot of this named mob). Luckily for us, there is only a 5-minute timer on when Mordici the Mortifican will spawn again, so you can easily sit and multi-task and try to get some kills on it as you farm these seal shards.
Pro Tip: Make sure you are in a large group when farming this named mob. It will die VERY fast, but as long as one person in your group gets a hit on it, all group members will get a drop upon its death.
Be sure to take advantage and farm out at least three Lost Major Combat Trophies to prepare for Season 10 of New World and consider farming more if you want to make some easy gold!
