Nintendo Will Share Future Plans Soon
Nintendo will soon share more details about its upcoming Switch and Switch 2 game releases, meaning fans will not have to wait long to add to their wishlists. The next episode of Nintendo Direct premieres on Friday, September 12th, and the presentation will last for approximately one hour. The direct will be broad in scope, though Nintendo remained light on the show’s details. However, the 60-minute duration leaves plenty of room for game trailers and teasers to satisfy Nintendo fans.
What Games Could Appear?
The release date of Metroid Prime 4: Beyond remains a mystery, as it currently has a 2025 release window. But the upcoming direct is the perfect time to share when players can experience the latest adventure of Samus Aran. Additionally, the Switch 2 version of Metroid Prime 4: Beyond will offer a higher framerate, increased graphical quality, and support for Mouse Mode controls using the Joy-Con 2 Controllers. Barring a delay, Metroid Prime 4: Beyond should arrive in time for the holiday season.
Alternatively, the direct could offer fans a glimpse into the 40th anniversary of the beloved Super Mario Bros. franchise. While a second Super Mario Bros. movie is currently in development, Nintendo could use some of the airtime to commemorate the momentous occasion. However, what they could show off is anybody’s guess. Additionally, the direct provides an excellent opportunity for the release dates of third-party Switch 2 ports, such as Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade, to be revealed at last.
When To Watch the Nintendo Direct
The September 12 direct airs at 9:00 AM Eastern/6:00 AM Pacific on Nintendo’s official YouTube and Twitch channels. The direct will also go live on the Nintendo Today mobile app, currently available on iOS and Android. Check back with Other Games on Friday to see the latest news and updates following the direct.
