It’s official – Ashes of Creation can no longer be purchased through Steam (page here).
With the recent resignations and layoffs across Intrepid Studios, the future of Ashes of Creation is up in the air. During all of this chaos, the game was still listed on Steam and purchasable for several days.
As of today (February 2, 2026), Ashes of Creation is no longer purchasable through Steam, which means no new players will be able to buy into the early access at this point.
Does this mean that Ashes of Creation is gone forever? Not necessarily, but it will never be the same after all of these incidents. There are still a lot of unanswered questions regarding the future of Ashes of Creation, and only time will tell what the future holds for it.
Additionally, on February 1, 2026, it seems like the game was listed as “Game cancelled” on the Ashes of Creation SteamDB profile (pictured below).
Although Ashes of Creation is no longer available for purchase on Steam, it seems like current players can still log in and play on the servers. However, that likely won’t be the case for long.
