After being available on Xbox and PC, Avowed is officially releasing on PlayStation 5. Obsidian has confirmed that its fantasy RPG will launch on February 17, 2026, finally opening the Living Lands to more players.
Set in the world of Eora (from Pillars of Eternity), Avowed puts you in the shoes of an envoy sent to investigate a mysterious plague. What starts as a straightforward mission slowly turns into something much more personal, as the land itself seems to react to your presence and the choices you make.

A Full RPG Experience From Day One
The PS5 version will not be missing anything. Avowed arrives with all the major updates already in place, including the Anniversary update that adds a bunch of long-requested features.
That update brings New Game Plus, a Photo Mode, more character customization options, and even a new weapon type with two-handed staves. On top of that, three new playable races: Dwarf, Aumaua, and Orlan, are also available from the start.
In other words, PS5 players are jumping in at a really good time.
Combat and Builds
Combat in Avowed is all about flexibility. You are not locked into a single class or playstyle, and you are free to mix swords, spells, guns, shields, and abilities however you like.
Character progression is split across four main paths: Fighter, Ranger, Wizard, and Godlike, and you can mix them to create hybrid builds. Companions also play a big role in combat, bringing their own skills and synergies to the table.
Companions and Choices That Matter
You will not be exploring the Living Lands alone. Along the way, you will meet companions with their own backgrounds, personalities, and motivations. The choices you make do not just affect the world, but also how these characters grow and respond to you over time.
It is very much an Obsidian-style RPG, where decisions matter and shape the story in subtle (and not-so-subtle) ways.
Pre-Orders and Editions
Pre-orders for Avowed on PS5 are now live on the PlayStation Store.
- Standard Edition – $49.99
- Premium Edition – $59.99
The Premium Edition includes a digital artbook and soundtrack, two player armor sets, and eight companion skins.

For PlayStation players who enjoy choice-driven RPGs with flexible combat and a strong story, February 17, 2026 is one to keep an eye on!
