Obsidian just revealed the Avowed update roadmap for 2025, breaking it down across Spring, Summer, and Fall. The Spring patch is already live, and the rest of the year brings features like New Game Plus, Photo Mode, gear updates, new abilities, and more.
The announcement came via obsidian.net together with a new graphic, and the community on Reddit has already started breaking it down.
Spring Update – Now Live
- Arachnophobia Safe Mode
- Mouse and keyboard support for Xbox
- Fog of War improvements
- More gold and crafting materials
- Soul Pods now dispel illusions
- Unique gear improvements
These updates focus on polish and quality of life. Players are especially happy with the illusion fix, better exploration tools, and accessibility changes.

Summer Update – Gear, Crafting, and Map Tools
- Cooking and crafting improvements
- New NPC abilities and behaviors
- New active and passive abilities
- New unique weapons and armor
- Custom map markers
Most of these are welcome changes, though some players feel a few of them should have been in the game at launch. New combat options and crafting updates are drawing the most interest.
Fall Update – NG+ and Visual Features
- New Game Plus
- Photo Mode
- New weapon type (community guesses include Staffs or Pikes)
- Appearance changes in world
- New character presets
- More Godlike customization
This is the big one! New Game Plus is what a lot of players were waiting for. However, some players want to hold off on replays until Fall, or even longer, unless more content is confirmed.
Still No Word on DLC
The biggest community concern? Still no mention of DLC. Many fans were hoping for at least a yes or no. Obsidian’s silence is starting to feel a bit deliberate, especially compared to how other devs handle post-launch plans. Some players still think DLC is coming based on how the story ends, but for now, nothing is confirmed.
If you are a first-time player, the roadmap adds a lot. For returning players, though, it might not be enough to come back just yet…
