During a recent interview at a Paris preview event, Battlefield Game Designer shared new technical and design details about Battlefield 6. They even confirmed the game will run at 60 FPS on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, with even higher frame rates possible through Performance Mode.

On PC, performance is of course uncapped, letting you fully optimize depending on your hardware.

If you want to take a look at the complete interview, you can watch it here, but be aware that it is in French. However, you can turn on English subtitles:

Performance and Optimization Take Center Stage

During the interview, the main Designer emphasized on the big focus that devs put on optimization and consistency across all platforms. Their goal is that both PC and console players can play at the same level of quality:

  • Stable 60 FPS gameplay on PS5 and Xbox Series
  • Performance Mode goes above 60 FPS on consoles
  • Fully uncapped FPS on PC
  • Visual parity across platforms, without compromising fidelity or stability
  • Smooth environmental destruction that does not tank performance during chaos

It is also good to note that this is the first entry under the new Battlefield Studios banner, bringing together teams from DICE, Motive (Dead Space), and others. They are all motivated to bring the best game possible in the series!

With improved framerate options, better technical performances, and a clear effort to return to Battlefield’s roots, Battlefield 6 is really going to be a full comeback of the series! The team definitely learned from previous ones, and are working hard on delivering something really amazing for everyone, even if you play on consoles!
