Battlefield 6 Season 2 Is Already Pulling Players Back on Steam

Battlefield 6 is finally back after a long winter break, which initially saw its peak playercount dwindle due to an unsatisfying end to Season 1. BF6 Season 2 is coming out swinging with a new expansive map, Contaminated, 3 new weapons, 2 new gadgets, and the return of the legendary AH-6 Little Bird.

The Fog of War

Battlefield 6 Season 2 kicks off with the war with Pax Armata now reaching the mountainsides of Germany to reclaim a once-owned NATO airbase. Season 2 will be released in 3 parts: Extreme Measures, Nightfall, and Hunter/ Prey. This update introduces VL-7 psychoactive smoke, distorting the battlefield with its hallucinogenic effects, along with the new Contaminated map. Later this season, players will also see the limited-time mode Operation Augur.

REDSEC

VL-7 psychoactive smoke is also infiltrating REDSEC. This new weapon engulfs the Battle Royal mode in Fort Lyndon, where squads must loot masks and filters for survival. Season 2 will also deliver new limited-time modes to REDSEC, all themed around the new psychoactive smoke.

Battlefield 6 Season 2 Battlepass

With a new season comes a brand new battle pass. Like last season, there will be 4 brand-new themed paths stocked with new hardware, weapon packages, soldier skins, XP boosts, and more. If you decide to go the extra mile with Battlefield Pro, you gain 6 instant BF Pro unlocks, 25 tier skips, and access to the exclusive bonus path.

But is this enough to make Battlefield 6 players happy? So far, a few hours after Season 2 came out, numbers have already climbed back up to 92,000 on Steam alone.
