The wait is over. Battlefield 6 just got its first cinematic trailer, teasing intense urban warfare, massive explosions, and the return of large-scale player battles. But that is not all – a new leak suggests we might already know when the game will drop, and it looks like last-gen players are officially left behind.
When Will Battlefield 6 Release?
A legal disclaimer found in the game’s pre-sale offer hints at an October 10, 2025 release. EA has not confirmed this date yet, but with the official multiplayer reveal set for next week, we might get the full confirmation very soon.
No Release on Xbox One or PS4
Unlike Battlefield 2042, Battlefield 6 is leaving Xbox One and PS4 behind, focusing fully on Xbox Series X|S, PS5, and PC. Dropping last-gen means the game can really lean into bigger destruction, better visuals, and larger-scale chaos without being held back by old hardware. It is a pretty bold move too, especially when you see Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 still releasing on PS4 and Xbox One.
A Single-Player Campaign Is Back
The trailer confirms a single-player campaign, something many fans missed in 2042. Part of the story will take players to New York City, as they fight against a PMC called Pax Armata, which is out to destroy NATO and its allies.

Multiplayer Reveal Coming Soon
The full multiplayer showcase is happening next week, where we will likely see actual gameplay. Until then, the hype around Battlefield 6 is already ramping up quite fast, with everyone excited to see the series focus on modern hardware and classic Battlefield chaos again.
