Battlefield 6 Winter Offensive Triggers a Total Breakdown

The final update for Season 1 of Battlefield 6 is here—and so is the long-advertised Winter Update, along with a mountain of bugs. Ever since the patch dropped, it’s been pure chaos: menus breaking, lighting exploding in weird ways, the community browser falling apart, and plenty more. Players are furious and begging for updates, but honestly, there are so many fires burning that it’s hard to tell where the team should even start.

The Winter Offensive Breaks Battlefield 6

The big Winter Offensive patch—meant to close out 2025 and glide us into next year—has instead slammed Battlefield 6’s momentum into a wall. What should’ve been a hype-builder has instead kicked off one of the roughest days the game has had all year.

Reddit is overflowing with clips of bugs ranging from minor annoyances to full-blown game-breakers. Light reflections have gone nuclear, turning into what basically look like living flashbangs.

And that’s just scratching the surface. Since Winter Offensive hit, we’ve already seen multiple rollbacks & issues with the new event pass, another movement “fix” gone wrong, and more.

Pretty much every corner of Battlefield 6 seems to be suffering thanks to the Winter Offensive update. Rockets and bullets are straight-up failing to register:

And in one of the weirder bugs, some players are losing their hand models entirely. At this point, it’s fair to ask: what on earth was in this update?

A Bump in the Road?

Every live-service game has rough patches, sure, but this one feels different. Almost every part of BF6 is buckling, regardless of mode or platform. To make matters worse, the developers have also postponed the Battlefield REDSEC Elite Series, adding even more disappointment to an already messy week.

Hopefully EA and Battlefield Studios can get things under control. Fans are flooding threads with pleas for fixes, especially around Portal and matchmaking—so at the very least, some transparency (or even compensation) would go a long way.
