In Dune: Awakening, you typically need a ton of chests. And by that I mean, a lot. You have all the gear you may have to store, all the vehicle parts, and of course all the various raw and crafted materials.
Chances are that you end up with a room full of chests aligned next to each other, and let’s be honest, it is not very aesthetic. However, one creative player on Reddit has found a really cool workaround to hide your containers, but still having easy access to them!
Hide Your Chests Smartly
The base idea of the trick is about stacking your storage behind nice furniture that will look like walls, but thin enough to allow you to still being able to interact with them. It is a great way to avoid the previously mentioned “hall of chests” look, and keep your home feeling like a real home instead of a warehouse.
How Does It Work
In order to do the same thing, the aluminum storage containers need to be just slightly taller than a half wall. To fix this, the player seems to have used a Choam floor piece placed on top of the half wall to level things out. Once you understand how that works, you need to follow these steps:
- Place down the half wall first
- Add the Choam floor piece on top of it
- Place your chest on top (you can use any type of chests that you want)
- Use the following pieces from the Artreides furniture set (or others if you want to make it look different):
- Wardrobe
- Cabinets
- Bookshelves
- Add partition walls in between each of them so it looks clean and like an actual big shelf-wall.
This basically allows you to hide the chests behind good-looking furniture, but it is not blocking you from interacting with the chests from the front. You can also adjust the looks to fit your own style by using different furniture.
At least now you can keep your storage room clean and accessible at any time!
