Blue Archive's steam launch has been delayed

Aspiring gacha gamers still tethered to their PC will need to wait a while longer to enter the world of Kivotos. Blue Archive’s steam launch has been delayed, as announced via the official English language account. The reason stated was a holdup in the platform review process, pushing the game back from its planned steam launch date of June 24th. The post said all team members are working hard to prepare for the game for release.

During the platform review process for new games, steam typically checks for store page accuracy, as well as a submitted product build. The process typically takes between three to five business days, but Valve requests companies sent builds seven business days before the live date, allowing time to make changes for store pages or builds. If an issue with the game was flagged by steam’s review, it may be a couple weeks before Blue Archive is finally ready to go.

Launched in 2021 by Nexon, Blue Archive has been growing in popularity beyond Japan, where it was first released. The game has spawned spin-off media, including anthology comics and an official anime. A release on steam, the most popular platform for PC gaming, would no doubt provide a boost to the game’s player count. But until the review process is complete, it looks like hopeful senseis will have to wait.
