Blue Protocol: Star Resonance is putting its own twist on the classic gacha system, mixing style with strength. Players can roll for exclusive cosmetics and Battle Imagines, gear that actually makes a difference in combat. While most Imagines can be earned the traditional way by grinding bosses and elite mobs, the rarest, most powerful ones are tucked behind the gacha wall. The real question is: how much do they matter?
Battle Imagines: How To Summon
If you’re ready to test your luck with Battle Imagines, head over to Mason in Asterleeds’ Entertainment District.

To wish on the banner, you’ll need either Bound Rose Orbs or Will Wish Coins. You can trade 150 Bound Rose Orbs for a single Will Wish Coin if you’re short on tickets.
Here’s some good news for free-to-play players: Will Wish Coins aren’t completely paywalled. You can earn a few through the Asteria Reputation Store or pick some up from the Season Pass. Both the free “Basic” track and the paid “Advanced” version toss in a handful.
Rarities, Pull Rates and Pity System
- Rare: These top-tier Battle Imagines are pure RNG. You can pull them from the gacha, snag them off the Trading Center, or trade in 300 Arcane Will Fragments at the Battle Will Exchange. There’s no easy grind or shortcut here, it’s all about luck. The drop rate? A brutal 0.15% chance per pull.
- Advanced: Slightly more forgiving, Advanced Battle Imagines can be rolled in the gacha or earned through Daily Boss Loot Keys, Stimen Vaults, or by trading 100 Arcane Will Fragments. With enough grinding, these are actually farmable over time. In the gacha, your odds sit at 1.2% per pull.
- Intermediate: The most free-to-play-friendly tier of the bunch. You can grab these through Daily Elite Loot Keys, Stimen Vaults, or by exchanging 80 Stunt Will Fragments. With some patience, you can stack up your favorites without spending a cent. The gacha odds are a much nicer 12% per roll.
When rolling, you’ll also pick up plenty of Stunt Will Fragments. They are the building blocks for future trades. Here’s the breakdown: 10 Fragments (9.09%), 5 Fragments (18.18%), 2 Fragments (27.27%), and 1 Fragment (45.46%).
To save both your sanity and your wallet, BP: SR includes a pity system that guarantees better pulls after enough attempts:
- Rare Battle Imagine: Guaranteed every 80 pulls, boosting your effective rate from 0.15% → 1.35%.
- Advanced Battle Imagine: Guaranteed every 20 pulls, raising your effective rate from 1.2% → 4.75%.
Current “Battle Will” Banner
At launch, BP: SR kicks things off with a single banner, “Battle Will”, featuring a lineup of powerful, non-farmable Battle Imagines:
- Olvera: A solid pick for DPS players looking to boost their damage.
- Tatta: Offers team-wide death protection, making it a favorite among Tanks.
- Rare: Reduces ability cooldowns for the entire squad.
- Rare: Revives fallen teammates and gets your party back into the action fast.
They’re all strong choices, but don’t feel pressured to whip out your wallet. Based on the CN server and Beta tests, Battle Imagines definitely enhance your character, but free-to-play players won’t be left in the dust. Most Classes don’t gain massive advantages from investing heavily in these banners.
There is one standout exception, though: the Stormblade. For DPS mains, this Class scales heavily with Battle Imagines, and the gap between a free-to-play build and a whale setup can be huge. So, if you’re planning to slice through enemies as a Stormblade, know that your gacha luck (or budget) will play a big role in your performance.
The Fashion Gacha
Not every gacha in BP: SR is about raw power. Some are just about looking good while wrecking monsters. Enter the Cosmetic Gacha, the game’s second wish system that’s all about style: outfits, mounts, and eye-catching accessories.
There are two rotating banners to keep an eye on: the Limited Outfit banner and the Limited Mount banner. If the Chinese server is anything to go by, each one lasts for roughly a month before fresh fashion is introduced into the rotation.
How to Roll for Cosmetics
This one is even easier to access: just hit the shiny “Wish” button in your account menu, and you’re good to go.

To roll for cosmetics, you’ll need either Rose Orbs or the system’s exclusive currency, Meowlux Wish Coins, which come in two types: standard and bound. Here’s the breakdown:
- 150 Rose Orbs = 1 Meowlux Wish Coin
- 150 Bound Rose Orbs = 1 Bound Meowlux Wish Coin (these are the free-to-play kind)
You can snag Meowlux Wish Coins from the Orb Store or the paid Advanced Season Pass. As for Bound Meowlux Wish Coins, those can be picked up at the Colorful Store using Bound Rose Orbs. Just keep in mind: anything you pull with Bound coins is account-locked, so don’t expect to trade or sell them.
Rarities, Pull Rates and Pity System
- Rare: The jackpot tier. Land one of these and you’ll score the banner’s full Outfit Set, plus bonus goodies like a Namecard or Badge. On Mount banners, this means the featured ride itself. The odds? A razor-thin 0.15%.
- Advanced: These pulls offer single-slot cosmetics, such as headwear, backwear, or occasionally a Meowlux Premium Card, which allows you to purchase specific cosmetics directly from the Meow Premium Store. The drop rate stands at 1.85%, a slightly more favorable rate than the Battle Imagine odds.
- Intermediate: A more varied haul that includes outfit pieces like tops, bottoms, and boots, plus materials such as Mixing Agents and Material Selectors. You can also pull Meowlux Vault Cards, used for shopping in the Meow Vault Store. Your chances here are a solid 12%.
- Ordinary: Expect toy poses, low-tier crafting materials, and the occasional Vault Card. You’ll see this tier a lot, since it makes up 86% of all rolls.
But don’t lose hope, the Cosmetic Gacha has a pity system to even things out:
- Rare: Guaranteed every 80 pulls (effective rate bumps up to 1.54%)
- Advanced: Guaranteed every 30 pulls (effective rate rises to 3.68%)
And the best part? No off-banner Rares. That means if you hit the jackpot, it’s always the featured outfit or mount.
Is the Gacha System Worth Investing Into?
Long story short, the Battle Imagines gacha is really only worth chasing if you’re planning to push your character to the absolute limit. For most Classes, they’re a nice power boost, but not a must-have to clear normal or even endgame content. The Stormblade is the one big exception: its DPS scales heavily with Battle Imagines, and the gap between a free-to-play player and a whale is definitely noticeable. Still, don’t feel pressured to spend. Every bit of Blue Protocol: Star Resonance can be enjoyed completely free.
As for Cosmetics, that’s all about personal taste. They won’t make you stronger, but if you want to turn heads while slaying bosses, go ahead!
