The popular boomer shooter FPS Boltgun is back with another announcement regarding their sequel, Boltgun 2. Malum Caedo, the protagonist of the first game, is now being joined by a member of the Adepta Sororitas, also known as the Sisters of Battle, Nyra Veyrath.

Thankfully, this doesn’t appear to be a simple reskin of our favorite Ultra Marine. The sister of battle has her own arsenal of weaponry. While we don’t know her entire roster, we do know she’s bringing a Powersword, Melta Bombs, and, of course, a Sister of Battle’s arsenal wouldn’t be complete without a Flamer.
Fans are buzzing with excitement over the announcement, thrilled to finally see a member of the Adepta Sororitas appear in Warhammer media again. The last game to feature a Sister of Battle prominently was Warhammer 40,000: Battle Sister, a lesser-known VR title. Outside of that, the most recent major appearance of a Sister was in Pariah Nexus.
So it’s safe to say that fans are very excited to see a faction that isn’t surrounding Space Marines. Of course, Space Marines are the poster child of Warhammer 40k, but after Space Marine 2, fans want a spotlight on other members of the universe. The recent Dawn of War remaster is definitely playing a part in surging interest in more factions.
The Emperor Protects
It is also worth briefly mentioning that despite Boltgun not being as flashy as Space Marine 2, the events of that game are, in fact, canon to the story. Malum Caedo has several voicelines referencing that he will finish the job that Captain Titus started, further cementing that the first Boltgun game is canon and takes place between the first and second Space Marine games.
This likely means that any grand achievements, kills, or glory that Nyra Veyrath is a part of in Boltgun 2 will likely be canon as well. Further meaning that this game could potentially give us one of the most powerful Sisters of Battle members if her kills are on the scale of what Malum Caedo did in the first game.
