Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 will officially open Gamescom Opening Night Live on Tuesday, August 19.
The worldwide reveal will be streamed live everywhere, giving us the first real look at the next big chapter in the Black Ops saga!

Battlefield 6 – A Real Competitor This Year?

Call of Duty might get the Gamescom spotlight, but Battlefield 6 is already stealing headlines.
Its open beta has reached a lot of records already, making it the most popular Battlefield launch ever on Steam.

PC Gamer’s Morgan Park even said, “Battlefield 6 is making an excellent case to skip Call of Duty this year.”

On top of that, former Blizzard president Mike Ybarra took to X/Twitter to share his thoughts as well:

Battlefield will boot stomp CoD this year. But the real win here is CoD won’t be lazy anymore, and we’ll all get better FPS games for it.”

Ybarra also criticized the series for going “downhill” in recent years, citing cheating, heavy UI/install, and overly colorful visuals, saying “people are sick of it.”

So when Black Ops 7 finally hits the stage at Gamescom, it won’t just be showing off for the fans. This time, they will have to prove it can still dominate the FPS battlefield.
