Capcom has recently updated sales numbers for its biggest franchises, and the list really shows just how stacked the publisher’s portfolio is in 2026.
At the top, there are no real surprises, but the gap between Capcom’s heavy hitters and the rest is still impressive.
Capcom’s Top 10 Best-Selling Game Series
Based on lifetime sales (shared by Genki_JPN), these are Capcom’s best-performing franchises so far:
- Resident Evil – 183 million
- Monster Hunter – 125 million
- Street Fighter – 58 million
- Mega Man – 44 million
- Devil May Cry – 38 million
- Dead Rising – 19 million
- Ace Attorney – 14 million
- Dragon’s Dogma – 13 million
- Marvel vs. Capcom – 13 million
- Onimusha – 9 million
Resident Evil and Monster Hunter continue to sit in a league of their own, but even Capcom’s mid-tier franchises are comfortably in the double-digit millions.
Devil May Cry 5 Is Still Selling Like Crazy
One impressive detail is Devil May Cry 5, which has been Capcom’s best-selling individual game over the past nine months.

The game sold an additional 2.426 million copies during that period, which was largely driven by the release of the Devil May Cry Netflix animated series. Capcom specifically points to a mix of smart pricing strategies and the TV show’s visibility as the reason behind the renewed sales boost.
It is a good example of how Capcom continues to benefit from cross-media projects without needing a completely new release.
Capcom Is Growing Alongside Its Success
Behind the scenes (as shared by Stealth40k), Capcom is also expanding its workforce at a steady pace. The company plans to surpass 4,000 employees in 2026 for the first time in its history:
- 2021: 3,253 employees (2,403 developers)
- 2022: 3,336 employees (2,473 developers)
- 2023: 3,534 employees (2,677 developers)
- 2024: 3,775 employees (2,865 developers)
- 2025: 3,964 employees (3,002 developers)
- 2026 (planned): 4,001 employees (3,014 developers)

With strong long-term sales, evergreen franchises, and a growing development team, Capcom continues to position itself as one of the most stable and consistent publishers in the industry right now.
