The final week of the Old Gods New Blood update for Deadlock is here, and to kick off this week, we have the final two out of six new heroes joining the roster. The votes are in, and Celeste is joining Deadlock, following Venator & Silver.
Celeste Leaps into Deadlock
Celeste becomes the fifth hero to join Deadlock during the Old Gods New Blood update. Her kit revolves around high mobility, weaving in and out of combat while ramping up her Spirit Amp, whilst slowing and stacking lifesteal against her enemies. As a baseline, Celeste is one of the most mobile characters Deadlock has made yet, as she has higher air control and lower gravity than the rest of the cast. Thus allowing her to slide and skip around the map, faster and better than others.
Here’s a quick breakdown of what Celeste can do:
- Light Eater: Blast enemies in front of you with a flare of light, marking them. Enemies who are damaged by Celeste while marked take extra spirit damage and heal her.
- Dazzling Trick: Form a barrier around yourself, granting you a shield and movement speed. If the barrier is broken, nearby enemies take a portion of the shield’s HP as damage and are silenced.
- Radiant Daggers: Call down a beam of light from the sky. After a short delay, the beam forms and explodes in an AOE. Celeste receives a stacking Spirit buff anytime she hits a hero.
- Shining Wonder: Shoot an orb that applies a slow and reduced Dash distance when hitting a hero. The orb then bounces to a nearby enemy within range.
Celeste’s abilities reward knowing how to outmaneuver your opponents to stay in the fight as long as possible to keep your Spirit ramped up. It’s also interesting to note that her weapon has no falloff, which means her gun will deal the same damage regardless of range, but she has a -25% Crit Bonus Scale, so critical strikes won’t be much good for her.
Apollo This Thursday!
