The Future of Character Customization in Chrono Odyssey

It’s fair to say that players around the globe desire an MMO where the developers listen to their feedback and do something with it. Luckily for us, it seems like the team at Chrono Odyssey is already doing a lot of listening, including their CEO who stated that they “stayed up for nearly 24 hours straight, watching player reactions and feedback in real time.” To read the full statement, click here.

After doing a lot of listening to a combination of complaints and suggestions, the team is starting to give us all updates on what they’re going to do about it, starting with one of the major concerns – character customization.

Within the first closed beta test (CBT), players were welcomed with some VERY flexible character customization options…with possibly a little bit too much freedom when customizing their characters. As you can see from some of the examples below, players got…creative.

The neon colors, thick necks, and awkward body compositions were just a bit too much for a majority of the community, and they made that crystal clear through social media posts, discord messages, YouTube videos, and more.

That’s when BongGun Bae (CEO, Chrono Odyssey) posted the following statement sharing what they’re going to do about it. When it comes to character customization, he states, “…we’ll be putting meaningful limitations in place.” (see image below for the full statement).

This fast response from the CEO just several days after the CBT is a testament that they are not only listening but also willing to take meaningful actions based on feedback to prepare this game for a successful launch.

Character customization was one of many areas that were heavily requested changes – let’s stay tuned to see what other changes are coming next to Chrono Odyssey!
