Chrono Odyssey’s closed beta (June 20-22) just kicked off, inviting you into the surreal, cosmic-fantasy world of Setera, and early server hiccups are already showing up!
But the real excitement lies in a recent interview with Chrono Studio, where Devs gave us a peek into their bold, time-twisting vision. Let’s see what they promise for full release!

No Loading Screens – Seamless Open World
The team emphasizes exploration should never feel robotic. They’ve built a world without forced loading screens! Gathering, fishing, combat, and parkour all flow together naturally. Setera is full of weird anomalies, giant Chrono Gates, twisting Labyrinths, Trials, and world bosses. You should be allowed to move between things smoothly.
Time Travel Meets Gameplay
The Devs call the Chronotector the heart of the experience. Inspired by Chrono Trigger, this tool lets you manipulate time to uncover hidden paths, rebuild broken bridges, or take a look at the future. Time itself becomes both a storytelling canvas and a gameplay mechanic: rewinding events, solving puzzles, or revealing secrets is just part of the fun.
Combat & Class Design – Fluid and Skill-Based
Chrono Odyssey ditches rigid class roles. Instead, weapon swapping on the go gives you passive buffs and lets you adapt in real time. They aimed for “easy to learn, hard to master” combat that rewards timing, parry, and dodge over static builds. Solo players? You’re covered! This system works for lone wolves or party-based encounters alike.
Progression & Playstyle Balance
Want to max out your character through crafting, gathering, or combat? Go for it! Everything feeds into progression. There’s no forced daily grind. The devs promise no pushy log-ins and no pay-to-win fluff. Solo challenges (Chrono Gates, Trials), 3-player dungeons, and large raids all each come with depth and rewards.
Final Word From the Devs
This beta is a sample. They encourage you to step off the guided path, test the world, share feedback, and they’ll build Chrono Odyssey with the community. Don’t just chase the quest arrow: trace your own adventure in Setera.
Yes, this beta will have a lot of flaws. But the goal is to get a maximum of feedback from players, so the devs can smooth out the story, gameplay, visuals, and more, and give you something unique upon release!
