If you have been running around Chrono Odyssey’s closed beta looking for bounty monsters, only to show up late or find nothing at all, you are not alone. A new video by creator AbuseMatt breaks it all down with a super detailed guide on how to find and complete every bounty in the beta, and it is a lifesaver.

We put together a quick summary to help you out!
How Bounties Work
Bounties are overall an easy system. Once you understand the basics, it will go rather smoothly:
- Step 1: Pick up bounty quests from bounty boards in major towns.
- Step 2: Go to very specific monster spawn spots on the map.
- Step 3: Defeat the monster, “slit” it, then return to town for your reward.
- Bonus: Some fights require puzzle-solving or navigating secret paths before the boss even shows up.
Timing is Everything
The most important thing? Know the spawn timers. Monsters take a long time to come back after someone else defeats them, and people clear them out quickly. So if you are not there at the right time, you will be stuck waiting… or leave empty-handed.
It’s Not Just Combat – There Are Puzzles Too
A few bounties have tricks to even reach the monster:
- Light a fireplace to reveal a hidden door.
- Break crates to reveal a switch.
- Jump through broken windows or squeeze through tight corners.
- Use time-manipulation skills to reveal hidden paths or keys.

- Accepting the quest causes the monster to spawn
- Tip: Slit it quickly and teleport back for rewards

- Avaracious Oswalt
- On an abandoned farm near town
- Use temporal tuning on loot in the middle of the town to reveal footprints
- Follow them down towards the cliff
- Hide behind a box to enter a solo instance and fight Oswald

- Kory the Deserter
- Northwest part of the map, in a cave near the ocean
- Found alongside a treasure chest

- Drunkard Tex

- Treadrender Donald
- In a swampy area called Murkwater Fishing Spot
- Look for a big tree with two houses behind it and enter the upper house, which will pull you into a solo instance
- Go upstairs and talk to the person in the cage, you will then have to find a key
- Solve a puzzle: light a fireplace, check the wardrobe with a shimmering vase in it, get the key and release the person
- Follow her downstairs and fight Donald

- Anna the Ominous Seer
- In a cave east of Murkwater, past pillars and a building, in a cave behind it

- Undertaker Mor
