One of the many questions constantly being asked about Chrono Odyssey is, “when will Chrono Odyssey launch?”
Based on the recent Kakao Games’ Q2 earnings call, it looks like Chrono Odyssey is currently slotted to launch in Q4 2026. Although this is simply an earnings call, and not an official date announced by the company, it still gives the community a better idea of when they can expect to see this game become fully available.
Interestingly, the Kakao Games’ Q1 earnings call actually had Chrono Odyssey listed to be launched in Q4 2025, but then something changed. This something is likely the reactions the game received in its first Closed Beta Test (CBT).
Chrono Odyssey’s First Closed Beta Test
The first CBT for Chrono Odyssey took place on June 20, 2025, to June 22, 2025, and there were many, many mixed reactions. Overall, the community (including large streamers) thought the game had a lot of potential but was not nearly ready for a launch this year. Some things (such as the character creator) had a little bit “too much freedom” which caused players to create some visually insane characters causing some players to not take it as seriously. Other things though, like the actual open-world combat, crafting system, storyline, and more seemed to show a lot of potential in Chrono Odyssey.
Additionally, the developers have been very transparent with the community and seem to be listening to all of the feedback. It’s important to note that this first, true public showing of Chrono Odyssey truly was a closed beta – with the intention of knowing the game wasn’t fully complete and that changes were going to be needed. The team at Chrono Odyssey has spent the last two months or so reviewing all of the feedback and have already published multiple Developer’s Notes highlighting some of this feedback that was gathered, and what they’re going to do about it.
Although this recent earnings call has Chrono Odyssey slotted to be launched in Q4 2026, there’s still a good chance that the second closed beta test may be available later this year.

What Caused the Chrono Odyssey Delay?
The answer to this question may be different for everyone, but within the Kakao Games’ Q2 Earnings Call, it was shared that “…through the CBT it really helped us to understand and recognize the high level of interest and positive anticipation that’s building up in the Western market, which is the market we are targeting. It is highly likely that we can turn this market expectation into long-term commercial success, so we decided that we should further dial up the game’s level of completeness, the level of perfection, even if it were to require additional development time.”
They continue to share that, “through the CBT, we did receive positive feedback on the game’s unique cosmic core universe, its massive open-world combat, and distinctive combat system which make up the core content of the game. But there were also weaknesses that were identified, such as in terms of the technical depth, the content layout that people gave us the feedback that it should be much gamer friendly, so we decided to take time to make changes until the official release date.”
They closed out the portion around Chrono Odyssey with the following statement:
“Through the CBT we were able to see and identify the potential for the popularity that this game could actually trigger in the global market, so Kakao Games and the game studio, we really understand the responsibility that we have, and the conviction that we could meet such market expectations. So, we are making our honest efforts to develop a game with the depth and the content for users to enjoy.”
More information will likely be coming soon regarding an official date of the Chrono Odyssey launch. Until then, stay tuned for more Chrono Odyssey updates, including more information on the upcoming second closed beta test to experience it yourself!
