The most recent footage of Chrono Odyssey was from the recent Closed Beta Test (CBT) which took place from June 20, 2025 to June 22, 2025. The MMO community had mixed reactions of their experiences with the CBT, with some comparing the action-based combat and gathering systems to New World: Aeternum, while others thinking it was too clunky and that the overly customizable character creator made the game a bit of a joke.
Regardless of your thoughts on the game, the developers have made a handful of promises and even pushed back the official release date to late 2026 to ensure they have Chrono Odyssey ready for launch.
If you’re new to Chrono Odyssey, here’s a quick run-down on what we can expect from the game:
- Seamless open world (with little to no loading screens between zones) with a large range of enemies and biomes (grasslands, snowfields, swamps, mountains, etc.)
- Promise that the game will NOT be P2W (in-game cosmetics will be available for purchase, but nothing that will impact your character’s progression and power). Time will tell if this is true, as it’s many potential players’ greatest worry.
- The option to select one of six different types of classes, allowing you to utilize two out of three potential weapons that are specific to each class. These classes include Berserker, Swordsman, Ranger, Paladin, Sorcerer, and Assassin.
- Action-based combat in both PvE and PvP scenarios, making overall combat skill-based and fluent.
- In-depth gathering and crafting systems to support a global economy and character progression.
- Challenging open-world bosses that support both solo and group-based gameplay.
- Wide range of PvE and PvP content, ranging from open-world dungeons, trials, mazes, and more.
- Time manipulation mechanics via the “Chronotector”, creating a unique twist to the action-based combat players will experience throughout the land of Setera.
- And much, much more.
