Pearl Abyss just dropped a new 15-minute feature video for Crimson Desert, giving a first real look at the game’s story, open world, and gameplay systems ahead of its March 19 release.
At the center of it all is Kliff, a warrior from the northern Greymanes faction, whose peaceful homeland has been torn apart.
You follow him as he reunites his lost comrades, uncovers growing supernatural threats from the mysterious Abyss, and faces factions trying to exploit its power. Basically, the fate of the entire continent of Pywel is on the line.
Open World & Exploration
Pywel is a seamless open world divided into five distinct regions:
- Hernand
- Pailune
- Demeniss
- Delesyia
- The Crimson Desert itself
Each zone comes with unique environments, stories, and challenges. Even if the main story focuses on Kliff, you can still explore freely, completing everything from faction quests to fortress sieges, hidden treasures, and puzzles.
Exploration is not just walking around, either. You can traverse the world on horseback, climb mountains, glide across distances, and later gain access to advanced traversal options like a missile-firing mech or even a dragon.
The world will definitely encourage curiosity, with rewards for those who dig deeper into its secrets!
Combat & Playable Characters
Combat in Crimson Desert will mix traditional battles with enemy soldiers, sorcerers, dangerous beasts, and machines. You need to adapt as you progress. Powerful artifacts, gear, and new skills can be earned through quests, combat, or exploration.
Kliff is also not alone! As you continue your main story, two other playable characters will join you. Each of them comes with unique combat styles, weapons, and abilities. This lets you experiment with different strategies for both exploration and battle.
