Fans of Crimson Desert may still be disappointed about the recent delay, but there is some good news to hold onto. IGN has just shared the first 13 minutes of gameplay, offering a detailed look at exploration, massive battles, and even a boss fight!
You can watch the video here:
13 Minutes of New Gameplay
The video begins with a sense of urgency! The protagonist Kliff, leader of the Greymanes, is called to help Marque Lanford as enemy forces threaten to seize a castle. What follows is a serious sequence of siege battles, where cannons break through enemy watchtowers and soldiers fight on the battlefield.
You also get a first look at:
- Real-time combat, with Kliff fighting on the frontlines.
- A boss battle against Cassius Morten, now allied with the Drunken Black Bears.
- Exploration, showing off the environment.
- Seamless in-game interactions rather than cutscenes.
The sequence ends with a nice victory and the promise of hunting down more enemies, setting the stage for the adventure that awaits!
Player Feedback
Of course, the video received a lot of reactions from players, and they quickly focused on sharing both the improvements and areas that would need a bit more polish:
- Sound design got a lot of praise, especially the footsteps that now change depending on terrain.
- Background music and voice acting were described as “top-notch”, making battles more epic.
- Many loved how NPCs interact naturally during gameplay rather than switching to cutscenes, reminding some players of Red Dead Redemption 2.
- Some concerns remain about camera angles and particle effects, but these will most likely be improved before launch.
Overall, the community is very optimistic, with many noting how far the game has come since its last showcase!
For those new to the title, Crimson Desert is an open-world action-adventure. The story is set in the continent of Pywel. You follow Kliff, leader of the Greymanes, on a journey filled with intense battles, mysteries, and exploration.
The game will launch on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PC (Steam), and Mac. A release date has not been confirmed since the delay, but the new gameplay suggests development is still in progress!
You can wishlist the game on Steam already as well. We recommend you keep an eye on our latest news, as we will update you with more information as soon as possible!
