CD Projekt Red just went live with a full breakdown of Update 2.3 for Cyberpunk 2077: new features, fixes, and surprises await! CD Projekt Red’s Senior Community Managers, Amelia Korzycka and Alicja Kozera, are joined by Paweł Sasko, Associate Game Director on Cyberpunk 2, and Adrien Jouannet, Lead Designer at Virtuos. Together, they are breaking down everything coming in Patch 2.3 for Cyberpunk 2077.
Expect new gameplay improvements, design changes, and maybe even a few surprises as the team walks us through all the changes coming soon.
The patch 2.3 will drop tomorrow, July 17, 2025, on PC, Xbox, PS5, Mac, and switch will follow soon after!
New Car Changes and Customization Options

Patch 2.3 puts the spotlight on vehicles and customization. The team revealed that the update introduces three new cars and one new motorcycle, which also happens to be the first fully customizable bike in the game.
Each new vehicle is unlocked through a short intuitive quest. However, for those aiming for 100% completion, it is worth noting that these new quests will not count toward achievement progress. This is because the team did not want to mess up with previous achievements.

On top of that, You will have the possibility to customize the paint job on nearly every vehicle in the game. There are 205 generic paint jobs and 168 unique paint jobs available. This also includes new CrystalCoats for vehicles.
Auto-Drive Functionality

With this update, players can now activate auto-drive for their vehicles. Just set your destination, sit back, and let the car take the wheel, literally. No manual driving needed!
Even motorcycles are supported, though your character will still keep their hands on the handlebars, for safety reasons, of course.
Auto-drive comes with two modes: one that takes you directly to your current quest objective, and another that cruises around Night City endlessly, perfect for enjoying the neon-lit sights.
A new Taxi system has also been added: tired of driving? Let the Delamain Taxi drive you around!
Auto-Drive Follows the Rules, But Keeps Things Smooth
Cyberpunk 2077’s new auto-drive system is not just hands-free, it is also law-abiding. Your vehicle will respect traffic rules, stopping at red lights and navigating intersections properly. But don’t worry, the developers made sure it won’t feel sluggish or frustrating. It is tuned to be smooth, natural, and immersive.
During combat situations, auto-drive will automatically stop the vehicle, making sure you are not thrown into chaos unprepared. However, the system is smart enough to let you stay in auto-drive during light encounters without constant interruption. The goal is to let you stroll through Night City while soaking in the atmosphere, music, and city vibes without hassle.
Photo Mode Adjustments

Patch 2.3 expands Photo Mode with exciting new features, giving players even more creative control over their shots in Night City. You can now adjust the time of day and weather, setting the perfect mood for your scene. The update also adds 27 new NPCs to place in your shots, plus new outfits for main characters to further customize your composition.
Combined with the new cinematic driving camera, these additions let you experience and capture Night City like never before, from dramatic sunsets to moody, rain-soaked streets, all through a stylish lens.
Cyberpunk 2077 Patch 2.3 Brings New Tech Upgrades
PC players are in for a visual upgrade with Patch 2.3 as AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution 3.1 (FSR 3.1) support goes live starting tomorrow. While FSR 4 is also on the roadmap, it will arrive later alongside an upcoming AMD driver release.
In addition, HDR10+ Gaming is now fully supported, bringing more vivid and dynamic visuals to compatible devices. And for console players, Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) support is coming soon, helping deliver smoother and more stable performance on supported hardware.
Cyberpunk 2077 Is Coming to Mac!

CD Projekt Red has officially confirmed that Cyberpunk 2077 is launching on Mac, and it is happening very soon! The game will be available starting tomorrow via the Mac App Store!
If you already own Cyberpunk 2077 on another platform, you will be able to download it on Mac for free and pick up right where you left off, thanks to full cross-progression support. That means your existing saves and progress can easily transfer over, letting you jump into Night City on your Mac without missing a beat.
This is patch is both for returning players looking for a reason to jump back in, and for new players who did not explore Night City yet!
