Cyberpunk is officially expanding into the tabletop space! CD Projekt Red has announced Cyberpunk: Trading Card Game, a physical-only TCG developed in collaboration with studio WeirdCo Games.

The game will feature characters from Cyberpunk 2077 and Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, letting you build your own crew and battle to become a Night City legend. A Kickstarter campaign is planned for later, but you can already sign up on the official website for a free exclusive “Nova Rare” Lucy card.

Built With CD Projekt Red From Day One

Unlike many licensed card games, CDPR has been involved since early development. Artists who worked on Cyberpunk 2077 and Edgerunners are contributing directly to the arts on the cards, and CDPR staff, many of whom are longtime TCG fans, are also helping with the project.

According to the developers, the goal is not to reskin an existing card game but to capture the tone, atmosphere, and emotions of Cyberpunk’s world and put those into cards.

They also released a trailer for the occasion that you can watch here:

A New Studio With Real TCG Experience

WeirdCo Games was founded by Elliot Cook and Luohan Wei, alongside other people who previously worked on major card games such as Marvel Snap, Duel Masters, and Universus.

The team already said that they want to make the game accessible even for newcomers, but with enough strategic depth for those who are used to playing TCG. The full rules have not been revealed yet, but WeirdCo says the design focuses on crew-building, missions, and storytelling rather than purely abstract mechanics.

We already got a few visuals through the trailer:

Characters, Art, and Collectibility

The launch set will include a ton of characters from Cyberpunk 2077, including multiple variants of some of the best characters in the game, including:

  • V
  • Johnny Silverhand
  • Panam Palmer
  • Judy Alvarez
  • Adam Smasher

More “Legends” and surprises are planned. Over 20 artists are involved, and they all want to emphasize both Night City’s beauty and tragedy.

Release Plans

No specific date has been announced yet, but so far we know that a crowdfunding campaign is planned for 2026, and more details about the gameplay, card previews, and more will be shared in the upcoming months!

The trading card game market is more crowded than ever, but a Cyberpunk Trading Card Game already separates itself from typical licensed adaptations. CD Projekt Red’s direct involvement, a physical-only format, and a development team with genuine TCG experience suggest this is more than a surface-level thing just for the sake of making a TCG game.

If WeirdCo succeeds in translating Night City’s characters, stories, and emotions into its mechanics, the game could appeal not only to collectors but also to players looking for a thematic, strategy-focused card game. At the very least, it will be a really cool thing for both TCG players and Cyberpunk fans!
