FromSoftware, the studio behind Elden Ring and Nightreign, is reportedly developing another, unannounced game. The rumored project, codenamed FMC, is said to be a multi-platform and could launch as early as next year.
According to MP1st, the Japanese studio is already in the “advanced stages of production” on this new title, alongside the Switch 2 game The Duskbloods and upcoming Nightreign DLC.
MP1st also suggests that FMC is likely a new IP, as the codename doesn’t follow FromSoftware’s usual internal naming patterns. Historically, internal names for the Dark Souls franchise and Armored Core VI began with “F,” which could mean this project isn’t a sequel or remaster.
Some speculation suggests this mystery title could be a Dark Souls III Remaster.
Nick “Shpeshal Nick” Baker, co-host of the XboxEra Podcast, says his sources confirm that Dark Souls III Remastered is currently in development.

Also, the release of The Duskbloods doesn’t mean FromSoftware is abandoning single-player games. In an earlier interview, Hidetaka Miyazaki reassured fans the studio is still committed to its signature formula.
“As a side note, please allow me to address one thing. As previously mentioned, this is an online multiplayer title at its core, but this doesn’t mean that we as a company have decided to shift to a more multiplayer-focused direction with titles going forward.”
So, what do you think FromSoftware project will be? Our bet would be a Dark Souls 3 Remaster since it’s next in line for one or another Armored Core game.
