Marvel Rivals has finally pulled back the curtain on its newest upcoming hero — Deadpool. After being appearing at The Game Awards, fans are now getting their first real look at what the Merc with a Mouth brings to the battlefield.
Deadpool Joins Marvel Rivals
This one has been a long time coming. Fans have had a feeling Deadpool was on the way ever since early leaks surfaced long before Daredevil even hit the roster. But since his official reveal at The Game Awards, Deadpool has been doing what he does best — messing with everyone.
Over the past few weeks, he’s been the only hero players could partially preview in-game, and he’s been bouncing between roles nonstop. First he showed up as a DPS, then a Tank, and eventually landed in the Support category.
Turns out, none of that was random.
Deadpool is officially Marvel Rivals’ first multi-role hero. That’s right — he can queue as a Duelist, Vanguard, or Strategist, making him one of the most flexible characters the game has seen so far.
The Merc Breaks the Fourth Wall (Again)
It wouldn’t be Deadpool without breaking the fourth wall, and Marvel Rivals leans all the way into it. Not only does he do this during his reveal, but he also hijacks part of the latest developer update. In true Deadpool fashion, he name-drops Colossus and Juggernaut along the way — and we also get confirmation that Elsa Bloodstone will be arriving later in the season.
When it comes to gameplay, Deadpool can be selected in any of his three roles — but only one Deadpool is allowed per team. So sadly, no triple-Deadpool chaos… at least for now.
Some of his abilities even change depending on the role you choose. One standout is his ability to toss down a plushie that acts as a shield — and yes, it’s already been confirmed that it can block Iron Man’s ultimate.
