What is the Cosmic Realm?
id Software recently revealed the Cosmic Realm, a new take on the DOOM universe. This place looks like stepping into a Lovecraft horror story, filled with changing landscapes, creepy monsters, and cosmic nightmares.
Within the Cosmic Realm, you will face:
- Kaca demons (squid-like flying beasts)
- Massive Cosmic Barons
You will also get your hands on the new Reaver Chainshot, a wild chain-and-ball weapon perfect for crushing enemies up close or from afar.
The Campaign Got Much Bigger
This game is big. Really big. Fans wanted more gameplay, and id Software delivered:
- 22 levels total
- Each level lasts about an hour (so, around 20 hours total for the story/campaign)
- Nearly 70% longer than DOOM Eternal
That means more action, more story, and a natural progression that feels rewarding. This is great for anyone who loves the idea of a longer, deeper single-player experience
Why Are Fans Frustrated?
Here is where things get a little tricky. id Software recently released a marketing trailer exclusive to PS5, leaving Xbox and PC players feeling left out. The community response has been pretty vocal, with gamers calling out the exclusivity as unfair and divisive, as reported by PushSquare.
