The box has been opened, and with it, a brand-new horror game from the mind of Clive Barker. Saber Interactive, developer and publisher of games like Word War Z: Aftermath and Space Marine 2, announced Hellraiser: Revival.
Revival is a single-player survival horror game in which players travel into hell itself to battle cultists, monsters, and Pinhead himself.
Dough Bradley Returns as Pinhead
Doug Bradley, Pinhead’s original actor, will voice the iconic Cenobite in his first return to the role in two decades. Clive Barker, creator of the Hellraiser series (and director of the first film), will be working with Saber to develop the game’s story.
Survival Horror Meets Action Gameplay
Revival is an action-focused survival horror game, with players able to use weapons in combination with a new puzzle box called the Genesis Configuration.
A Trip to Hell for Love
As the main character, Aidan, the player will travel into hell to rescue his girlfriend from an eternity of torment. In addition to Pinhead, other notable Cenobites like Butterball, Deep Throat, and Chatterer are also seen in the trailer. Will we get a chance to see Frank Cotton, too? Time will tell.
Familiar Cenobites Return
Revival currently has no release date listed, but pages are now up for Steam, PlayStation, and Xbox. Interested masochists and sadists can also keep their eyes on the game’s official website for the latest news. Just try not to open any suspicious puzzle boxes before the game is out.
