Dragon Ball Age 1000 Announced, Set in the Year 1000

A new Dragon Ball game project has just been announced. The first teaser does not reveal much yet, but it gives us an early look at the upcoming Dragon Ball title set far in the future, including an original character designed by Toriyama.

DRAGON BALL | NEW GAME PROJECT “AGE 1000” Announcement Trailer

The game is currently known as Dragon Ball: Age 1000, with a planned release sometime in 2027. According to the announcement, the project has been in development for over six years, with direct involvement from Akira Toriyama on character designs and world concepts.

The Story Will Take Place in the Year 1000

Age 1000 is set far into the future of the Dragon Ball universe, specifically in Year 1000. This opens the door to a completely new era, with unfamiliar settings, themes, and characters that have not appeared in any previous Dragon Ball game.

The developers confirmed that the game will feature original characters that we have never seen before, designed by Toriyama, rather than relying only on existing anime or manga material.

A Dragon Ball Game With Bigger Ambitions

Gameplay details have not been revealed yet, but the team said that Age 1000 will include more elements and settings than any previous Dragon Ball game. What exactly that means is still unclear, but it suggests a much bigger project rather than a simple arena fighter or retelling of known arcs. This means we can likely expect something completely different from games like Sparking! Zero or Kakarot.

The long development cycle, reportedly 6 to 7 years, also hints at a more ambitious structure than usual. It means they have been working on it for a long time, and really try to provide something meaningful and original in the Dragon Ball universe.

More Information Coming Soon

For now, the title “Age 1000” is still considered a project name, with the official title expected to be revealed later.

More details are scheduled to be shared during Dragon Ball Games Battle Hour 2026, which takes place in the U.S. on April 18-19. Hopefully, the event will give everyone a clearer look at the game’s direction and possibly its genre or platforms.
