Duet Night Abyss Release – Everything You Need to Know

Duet Night Abyss (DNA) is an upcoming free-to-play anime action RPG from developer Pan Studio and publisher Hero Games. The game leans into the anime-inspired visuals and cast that you see in games such as Genshin Impact or Wuthering Waves, but from a combat perspective. It’s also drawing comparisons to Warframe thanks to its high degree of movement freedom and weapon switching.

DNA reached 15,000,000 pre-registrations leading up to its launch window, partly due to generating a lot of hype over being completely free-to-play with no pay-to-win gacha mechanics and no stamina system as per their Global Launch Livestream.

Presumably, the monetization would instead be more geared towards cosmetics, which was confirmed as well as other additional launch details below in their pre-launch Global Launch Special Program Livestream on the 25th of October and over the last couple of days on the Duet Night Abyss official X.com account.

When Is Duet Night Abyss Coming Out?

Duet Night Abyss officially launches on October 27, 2025, at 10:00 PM (UTC-4). That means players in the Americas will be able to dive in during the evening of the 27th, while those in Europe will gain access shortly after midnight on October 28. For players across Asia, the release will land in the morning hours of October 28, local time.

Duet Night Abyss’ download file size is 15GB on PC, and 11GB on mobile phone. This may expand as they release additional content post-launch. After extracting files, Pan Studio recommend at least 40GB available on PC and 20GB available on Android / iOS.

How to Pre-Download Duet Night Abyss

DNA’s pre-download has been released as of October 25th, letting you download it ahead of time on all platforms so you can jump right in on the release.

The Global Launch Special Program stream gave us a ton of insight as to what the game has to offer content-wise for DNA’s launch in a couple of days.

Story Content

There are 4 story chapters at launch, shared between both of the game’s main protagonists. The dual-protagonist system offers the ability to play through the story through multiple perspectives in different parts of the world of Atlasia.

Core Content

• 19 playable characters & 45 weapons. ALL Characters and Weapons are grindable, there are no character or weapon gachas. Weapons can be used across all characters as well.
• Update cadence is one new character + one new weapon every 28 days.

New Characters

Psyche and the Chrysalis’ Daydream was announced to join the game in 1.0 launch, with Fina and the Dreamweaver’s Feather rifle.

How to Get Characters and Weapons in Duet Night Abyss

As Pan Studio made the decision to remove gacha from the game, characters and weapons are instead grindable through currency and dungeon content, or purchased outright.

Instead, they’ve moved to a core currency called Secret Letters, which will let you eventually purchase the weapons or characters you would like. Notably, characters and weapons will never be removed from the roster and can be obtained permanently.

• Play Immersive Theatre → get Psyche shards / weapon mats.
• Later, when new characters drop, older ones move to Nocturnal Echoes (boss).
• Gather Secret Letter Clues → trade them in the shop → get the letters you want (character, weapon, or Demon Wedge).
• Craft the weapon once you’ve got all the mats.

Duet Night Abyss Monetization

Other than the ability to skip grinds, the game offers cosmetic overrides, skins, weapons and accessories through Gacha banners. The game will be launching with two banners:

• Starlight Rondo (permanent)
• Summer Dreams Aflutter (limited-time)

Skins have full color sliders and even modify the effects of abilities and ultimates. It seems instead of pressuring for pay-to-win or FOMO character banners they’re upping the game on cosmetics instead.

Like banners in traditional gacha games, these can be pulled with paid currency or free-to-play using Pristine and Prismatic Hourglasses.

Duet Night Abyss Free Launch Rewards

Due to hitting the 15 million pre-registrations, launch will have the following rewards:

• Sanctuary unlocks – 30 Rebecca shards (enough to recruit her instantly).

• Tummy Full, Hands Full event – 30 shards for Truffle & Filbert 
• Mystic Maze roguelike – up to 60 Lisbell shards plus Secret Letters for her.

Duet Night Abyss Launch Codes
