Players will be allowed to pick their preferred game difficulty when creating a new character, and each option scales individually in co-op parties.
Difficulty Modes Explained

- Easy – Looking for a story
- Perfect for newcomers or players who want to focus on the story only. Damage is reduced, and Elemental Affinities matter less.
- Normal – Looking for a balanced experience
- This is the standard mode. It offers the classic Borderlands experience with balanced combat and loot.
- Hard – Looking for a challenge
- This is the hardest mode. Only recommended for Vault Hunters who already know the game and are looking for a challenge. Enemies deal more damage, Elemental Affinities matter more, and loot and cash rewards are increased to match the risk.
