Bandai Namco has announced a new depth-based high-difficulty mode for Elden Ring: Nightreign called Deep of Night. Recently, Elden Ring: Nightreign introduced a limited-time high-difficulty event called Everdark Sovereign, which featured an enhanced version of regular expedition bosses, but the upcoming challenge mode will impact the entire run, making every enemy much stronger than in regular expeditions.
Deep of Night is set to begin in Elden Ring: Nightreign on September 11. From the looks of it, Deep of Night is designed primarily for seasoned players who are looking to challenge themselves with this new hardcore mode.
What’s New In Deep Of Night?
Deep of Night is a depth-based difficulty mode that makes all the enemies appear stronger than usual. Furthermore, you don’t know which Nightlord you’ll be fighting against. And it will remain a mystery till you enter the arena on the final day of the expedition.

Furthermore, Elden Ring: Nightreign also introduces Depth Relics. These relics will be exclusive to the Deep of Night mode. Bandai Namco Entertainment has also specified that you may encounter weapons with additional effects. But these weapons may also have some detrimental effects to make the run more challenging.
The Depth of the Deep of Night mode is affected by your wins and losses in the high-difficulty mode. If you keep winning, you’ll end up in deeper Depth levels. Each Depth is more difficult than the one before. For example, Depth 2 would be a lot more challenging than Depth 1.
Bandai Namco Entertainment has encouraged the players to try and challenge Depth 3 and see if they can overcome and surpass it. It was also revealed that Depths 4 and 5 will feature an endless battle, but what exactly is meant by that can only be figured out by reaching those Depths, and that appears to be no easy task.
