Elden Ring: Nightreign mixes roguelike systems with Battle Royal intensity and classic Souls-like combat. It’s unforgiving, it’s beautiful, and most importantly, it doesn’t always tell you what you need to know. Many of the game’s most useful features are never clearly explained! If you’re diving into Limveld, especially solo, here are hidden mechanics and tips that could save your life.
Weapons in Your Inventory Still Give Passive Buffs

Even if you’re not using a weapon, it can still help you. Many weapons have unique passive effects that continue to work while unequipped, as long as they remain in one of your six weapon slots.
So if you’re maining with a sword, but pick up a bow with a damage-boosting passive, keep it in your inventory. The same goes for spell weapons: they’ll still summon floating swords or fireballs automatically, even if you’re not holding them.
It’s like building your own passive loadout: stack the right weapons for free bonuses!
Weapon Blocking Can Save Your Life
Talking about weapons, don’t forget to block. And no, you do not need a shield for that. All weapons in Nightreign offer 100% physical block, making them a viable emergency defense. If you’re about to get hit and have nothing else, hold block. Your weapon just might save you.
Solo Players Can Revive
Playing solo is hard and dangerous, like Elden Ring on nightmare mode. But if you find the Wending Grace, sold by merchants in Limveld or the Spirit Shelter, you get one free revive. Make sure to grab it before Day 2 ends!
In multiplayer, Wending Grace can also appear as a legendary drop or be sold by a merchant, giving your whole squad one last stand if everyone goes down.

Revive Allies With Abilities, Not Just Melee
You don’t always need to swing your weapon to revive a teammate. Abilities like Wylder’s hookshot, Raider’s Stele, and Ironeye’s Great Shot can revive allies while damaging enemies. It’s perfect in chaotic fights.
Use the Map to Target-Farm

Looking for a specific weapon type? Press Y on Xbox (or Triangle on PS5) while viewing the map. Points of Interest (POIs) will show the type of armaments they contain:
- Great Churches = Incantation Seals
- Arcane Towers = Magic Staffs
- Camps = Ranged Weapons
Dropped Connection? You Can Rejoin!
If you get disconnected mid-run, you can rejoin your squad and return to the same lobby. All your gear, progress, items will still be there as long as your teammates are still alive.
Site of Grace for Free Healing

If you happen to get downed near a Site of Grace, crawl to it! Reaching one revives you with full health and flask charges, and no team required.
Unlock Powerful Shifting Earth Events
Defeating Nightlords unlocks tougher areas and better loot:
- 1 Nightlord = The Crater
- 3 Nightlords = Mountaintop
- 5 Nightlords = Scarlet Forest
- 7 Nightlords = Shrouded City
These Shifting Earth events also increase your odds of reaching the final circle nearby.
Grab Early Flask Charges at Churches
You’ll take damage guaranteed. That’s why your Sacred Flasks matter. Increase their number by visiting Churches of Marika, marked in gold on the map if not visited yet.
Start your run by flying toward one, defeating nearby enemies for an early level-up, and securing your first flask upgrade.
Target Forts and Churches for Early Upgrades
Forts and Great Churches offer easy early bosses and good rewards:
- Forts: Three chests downstairs, a Knight boss on the ramparts, and often a Stonesword Key.
- Great Churches: Bosses drop Incantation Seals and usually have hidden chests and more Stonesword Keys.
Day Two = Boss Farming Time

Once you’ve secured flasks and basic weapons on Day One, spend Day Two clearing bosses:
- Prioritize bosses with weaknesses matching your gear’s affinity.
- Visit Evergaols with Stonesword Keys for high rewards.
- Look for Great Enemy bosses (marked on the map). Aim to be Level 8-10 before fighting them.
Don’t Sleep on Ranged Weapons
Even if you’re not Ironeye, use bows or ranged weapons when melee gets tough. Nightlords move fast and hit hard, making distance your best friend. All characters have unlimited ammo, so don’t be shy.
Bonus Tips
- Smithing Stones from Mining Tunnels can upgrade blue weapons to purple.
- Charge your abilities! Many ultimates become stronger if you hold the button.
- Use ultimates to revive allies. This is especially useful because you’re invulnerable mid-animation.
- Spend Murk to roll for powerful Relics. This is Nightreign’s long-term stat boost system.
