Elden Ring Nightreign Leak Reveals New Endless Mode

Elden Ring Nightreign is off to an amazing start, especially with its weekly rotation of Everdark Sovereigns and its recently added duos mode. But recently, dataminers have begun to uncover future new modes and features.

New Endless Mode

After the release of patch 1.02, which introduced Two Player Expeditions, dataminers have found new modes, Relics, and more coming in future updates. Out of everything found, the biggest find is the new game mode: Deep of Night. Apparently, this is meant to be a new endless mode that continuously spawns enemies, increasing difficulty the longer you survive.

The description for this new mode reads:

“Targets cannot be chosen, and difficulty increases with depth. Victory increases your rating, allowing you to proceed unto ever greater depths. The boundless dark stretches out unto infinity.”

This mode also seems to be paired with a new skill-based matchmaking system that will tie into a ranking system. The description reads:

“As you venture into the Deep of Night, your rating will change based on your victories and losses. When you reach certain rating thresholds, your “Depth” will increase. If you continually lose rating, your “Depth” will be reduced, but once you have reached Depth 2, you cannot return to Depth 1.”

There also appears to be 5 Depth levels in total, beginning with Depth 1 at 0-999 mmr to Depth 5 with 6000+ mmr. According to the leakers, you cannot be demoted to a previous Depth level once you hit a new rank, meaning if you hit Depth 2, you can’t go back to Depth 1.

Depth Relics & Weapons

Screenshots also showcase new Relics being added, and the maximum amount of Relics your nightfarer can equip being increased to 6. However, these three additional slots can only be filled by these new Depth Relics. There also appear to be some new affixes added to weapons. However, interestingly enough, both the new Depth Relics and weapon affixes sport both buffs and debuffs.

Having nightfarers willingly pick debuffs they must manage both on their Relics and weapons seems like an interesting trade-off in exchange for hopefully more power. Or perhaps there is no benefit and it’s merely an attempt to make your Nightreign runs that much more difficult.

But what do you think? Is this the difficulty or spice that Elden Ring Nightreign needs to keep its players around? Or were you hoping for something different in its future updates? Be sure to let us know and keep an eye on our latest news!
