Elden Ring: Nightreign – Rise Towers & Crests Guide

In Elden Ring: Nightreign, Rise Towers hold valuable rewards, but you need to unlock their magical barriers first. To do that, you must find and break a special item called a crest. These crests aren’t always obvious, and the game doesn’t directly tell you how to break them.

Unlocking a Rise Tower gives you boss-free access to rare or even legendary weapons that can boost your run. This is why we gathered some information so you know how to identify towers, and where to look for the Crests!

What Are Rise Towers?

Those towers are special buildings located on your map with a tower icon. There are usually two towers per run, and they are located across Limveld randomly.

Each Rise has a special puzzle, and you have to quickly figure out to get the rare loot inside. Try to unlock Rise Towers early in your expedition before the circle closes in, especially during the first or second night. This helps you avoid missing out on useful rewards.

Once you enter a Rise, you quickly notice it’s sealed off. You will have to find a Crest, and figure out how to break it!

What Are Rise Tower Crests?

Rise Tower crests are light blue circles with strange symbols inside. You won’t see them marked clearly on the map, but each Rise Tower always has one nearby. You usually need to find and break this crest to open the tower’s sealed second floor.

Where to Find Crests

The most common place for crests is under a shrub or in a small pond near the tower. If the crest is under a plant, you’ll notice the shrub or tree moving even if the wind isn’t strong. This subtle movement is your clue.

Towers near water almost always hide their crest in the pond close by. Some towers have unusual crests: one uses a stone imp holding a book. In this case, interact with it to break the seal. Others hide crests inside an animated tree trunk that disappears when attacked.

In doubt, hit it, you never know.

How to Break a Crest

To break the crest, simply stand inside the blue circle and perform a dodge roll. You’ll hear a shattering sound and get a message that the Rise Tower is now unlocked for all players.

If you come across a Rise Tower that doesn’t open easily, it might be a bug or a very well-hidden crest. If so, it’s best to move on and focus on other towers.

What Are the Rise Towers Rewards?

Once unlocked, you’ll find no stairs on the ground floor, just a scaffold you can climb. From there, head to the balcony and take the stairs up to the tower’s single chamber. Inside, you’ll find an item drop, often a rare armament and sometimes even a legendary weapon.

While there’s no rune reward, unlocking these towers is quick and gives you valuable gear without fighting bosses. It’s a smart move to include at least one Rise Tower in your expeditions for better weapons.
