Fellowship Early Access Trailer Finally Reveals Bowguy

Rainy's Avatar by Rainy

Chief Rebel, the developers of Fellowship, released an Early Access launch trailer 3 days ahead of the game’s Early Access release on October 16th. This trailer showcases new environment assets, new boss animations, various mounts, and teases at the long-awaited archer hero archetype.

New Hero: Bowguy

This new hero appears to be a damage-dealing archer with a blue and gold color palette. His bow is adorned with crescents. When he draws his arrow, it begins to glow with what looks like a constellation. We do not yet know his name.

In the Early Access trailer, we see a few other potential abilities that this archer hero uses, including:

  • An attack where a four-pointed star appears above his head after he shoots his arrow. After a short delay, it appears above the party’s healer, Sylvie.
  • An animation shows the archer transforming into what looks like an avatar of the night sky, his body illuminated by the stars within.
  • A volley of arrows fired as the archer points his bow towards the sky. The arrows rain down in shades of blue before turning into a golden spark of stars upon hitting a target or the ground.

New Art Assets, Animations, and Content

Here’s all the new information that we gathered from the trailer:

  • Updated textures for all dungeons and bosses shown in the trailer, including Cithrel’s Ascent, Sailor’s Abyss, Wraithtide Vault.
  • 4 mounts are showcased: 2 horse variants, 1 large rat, and 1 tiger.
  • A newly-unveiled spider-infested zone covered in webs. We see the lair of a giant spider, Vexira, the Mother of Nightmares, and what appears to be a volley of venomous projectiles targeting the party.
  • A new ranged enemy in a new environment, taking aim with their bow in an area with cliffs and vibrant trees.
  • Sylvie uses her Spirit Ability Fluttercall: Jubilee, showing off the updated animation and effects for it.
  • The final sequence teases a new zone and what appears to be a new boss standing atop a burning rooftop. This boss seems to wield an AoE slam and can summon fiery projectiles to rain from the sky.

Which of These 4 Mounts Will You Get First?

In the Early Access trailer, we see two horse mounts, one rat mount, and one tiger mount. We’ve seen three of these mounts previously. We saw the basic brown horse from the latest Open Beta in September that was obtained by completing one adventure. The white tiger that was earned from completing a +5 difficulty adventure/dungeon during February’s Next Fest playtest is present in the line-up from the trailer. We also saw the rat mount with the barrel saddle during the Next Fest playtest.

The new horse mount variant has a dreamy pastel color palette. Its colors resemble those of the Cithrel’s Ascent dungeon, the capstone for Contender league. It’s unclear how this mount is unlocked, whether it’s an in-game achievement, a cosmetic purchase with in-game currency, or micro-transaction.

Monetization, Game Price, and Supporter Packs

Fellowship plans to release in Early Access on October 16th as a pay-to-play game (aka, without a subscription). The game’s Early Access price is $24.99 USD, with 3 Supporter Packs that will be available for purchase at launch.

Each Supported Pack includes three hero armor skins and one mount skin, totaling nine armor skins in the highest tier. These will have unique colors, but there will be versions of these skins that are not unique and will be available in the game in the future. It’s unclear whether these variant skins will be earnable through achievements, in-game currency, or micro-transactions.
