FF7 Remake Trilogy Finale: Only Two Possible Titles Left

Back in October 2025, French Creator Julien Chièze got an exclusive chat with Naoki Hamaguchi, director of the Final Fantasy VII Remake trilogy, and Guillaume Broche, creative director of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33.

The conversation was full of cool insights about their creative process, inspirations, and upcoming projects, but for FF7 Remake fans, the real revelation was a tiny but huge detail about Part 3.

You can watch the complete interview on Julien Chièze’s YouTube channel, however keep in mind that it is fully in French and Japanese with no English translation.

Shared Inspirations and Creative Synergy

Both Hamaguchi and Broche are huge fans of Final Fantasy. Broche credits the series for getting him into games, and Hamaguchi says it defined him as a creator. They talked about how games can inspire other games, how small and big studios influence each other, and why passion and clear vision are everything when making a game.

They also went into the intimate details of game development, talking about balancing storytelling, gameplay, and emotion, leading big teams, and using modern tools like Unreal Engine 4 and 5. Music and emotional moments are also super important. Both agreed that the player’s experience comes first.

FF7 Remake Part 3: The Title Mystery

Here is the part everyone is freaking out over, and it is none other than the title of Final Fantasy Remake Part 3. Hamaguchi said:

Me and Tetsuya Nomura have already narrowed it down to two [title options], within the year we will decide on which one. Within this year it will be set.

So we finally know they are almost done deciding the title. The big question now is, does “within this year” mean by the end of 2025, or is it more like 2026? Since the interview was in October, there is a good chance it could happen soon, maybe even at The Game Awards this week. Players are holding their breath for that first reveal, and we definitely would love to see the first trailer of part 3 during The Game Awards!

Hamaguchi also confirmed that Part 3 will have new gameplay styles, bigger worlds, and the emotional storytelling FF7 is known for. With the title nearly locked in, it is only a matter of time before we finally get a proper look at the final chapter of this trilogy.

Will it be this month? Early 2026? Either way, hype is real!
