Forza Horizon 6 Leak Points to Japan Setting Ahead of TGS Reveal

We have been waiting years for the Forza Horizon series to head to Japan, and new leaks suggest it is finally happening with Forza Horizon 6.

A now-deleted Instagram post from Australian car import company Cult & Classic showed Playground Games scanning a Japanese Kei car for the next Horizon title. The post explained that the team flew out specifically because Kei cars are nearly impossible to find in America. That alone makes them a solid clue! There is no real reason to scan Kei cars unless Japan is involved.

Of course, this is just a small detail, and in no way confirms Forza Horizon 6 is coming, or that it will indeed be set in Japan!

However, it does line up with a report from Windows Central. They claim to have seen documents pointing to a Forza Horizon 6 reveal at Tokyo Game Show 2025. This year, the event will take place from September 26 to September 28, 2025. Xbox has already confirmed it will attend TGS, so it could happen!

Why Japan Makes Sense

  • Japan has been the #1 requested setting for years thanks to the various landscapes, mountain drift roads, and legendary car culture.
  • Forza Horizon 5’s Mexico map was sometimes criticized for being too repetitive. Japan could bring the variety and atmosphere we have been waiting for.
  • Kei cars are unique to Japan.

What to Expect From FH6

  • Built on the updated ForzaTech engine (same tech powering Forza Motorsport 2023 and the Fable reboot).
  • Promises major graphical upgrades and improved driving physics.
  • Developed by Playground Games with support from Turn 10 Studios, making it the most ambitious Horizon yet.
  • Improved FH5’s live-service elements, with more rewarding post-launch updates.

Platforms & Release

  • Expected release: 2026.
  • Platforms:
    • Xbox Series X/S, PC, and Game Pass day one.
    • Likely also coming to PlayStation, but reports suggest a 6-12 month delay compared to Xbox/PC.
  • Cross-save support is rumored as well.

If all this lines up, then Tokyo Game Show 2025 could be the long-awaited reveal of Forza Horizon 6: Japan, something we have wanted since the very beginning!

We will be covering TGS, so stay tuned for updates if Forza Horizon 6 is officially revealed!
