Ghost of Yōtei Game Length – How Long Will It Take to Finish?

Ghost of Yotei - Sucker Punch

Sucker Punch has not given any actual numbers yet, but from what we know so far (and what we have been told about the game), the general expectation is that Ghost of Yōtei will take about as long to finish as Ghost of Tsushima. That means around 25–30 hours for the main story, and 50–60+ hours if you explore everything, clean up side content, and go for the platinum trophy.

Why It Can Be Shorter… Or Much Longer

Of course, playstyle matters a lot here. If you stick to Atsu’s main story, you will get through it faster. If you like riding off the path to chase a rumor, hunt for gear, or clear every activity you find, your hour count will jump quickly.

The Game is Built For Curiosity, Not Checklists

Sucker Punch says Ghost of Yōtei offers more player freedom than any of their past games. The world is designed to pull you off the road naturally. Fewer strict “checkbox” tasks. More “I saw something over that hill, let me check it out”. That means two players can finish with totally different playtimes and still feel like they got a complete experience.

Tsushima Players Will Feel Right At Home

It is a new legend with a new hero, Atsu, but the scope and pacing should feel familiar if you played Ghost of Tsushima. Classic samurai combat, stealth when you want it, and a world that rewards taking your time.

When Can We Play It?

Ghost of Yōtei releases on October 2, 2025, and Sucker Punch will most likely share more details on the final runtime and world design as launch approaches.
