During last night’s Gamescom Opening Night Live, developers revealed Ghost of Yōtei Legends, a new multiplayer expansion for Ghost of Yōtei coming in 2026. The best part is that it will be a free DLC for all Ghost of Yōtei owners! Unlike the world of the base game, Legends introduces a cooperative multiplayer mode set in a different, more supernatural version of Yōtei.

New Multiplayer Experience
As mentioned, the multiplayer will be quite different from the base game’s grounded story. Legends brings a cooperative, supernatural setting. You can team up for:
- Two-player story missions
- Four-player survival matches
Gameplay & Characters
- You can choose from four different character classes.
- You will have to face demonic, giant versions of the Yōtei Six.
- Battle alongside a variety of new enemies.

The expansion draws inspiration from Ghost of Tsushima Legends, bringing a familiar cooperative experience, and on top of that expanding the universe of Yōtei with epic battles and multiplayer challenges!
Release & Requirements
- DLC will release via a patch update in 2026. There is no specific release date yet.
- Internet connection and a PlayStation Network account required.
- PlayStation Plus needed for online play.
Sadly, as it is with PlayStation, you will need an active PlayStation Plus subscription in order to play the Multiplayer DLC with other people.
Legends is not releasing right now, but luckily we only have six weeks to wait for the main game’s launch on PlayStation 5 on October 2, 2025! Keep an eye on our latest news, as we will update you when more information releases!
