Ghost of Yōtei New Game Plus: What Is Included in the Update?

Ghost of Yōtei is getting New Game Plus (aka NG+) a lot sooner than anyone expected. A free update was just announced. It will arrive on November 24, 2025, and allows you to restart Atsu’s story with all your armor, weapons, abilities, and upgrades unlocked from the start. For players who held off on finishing the game in case NG+ arrived later, this update landed at the perfect time.

Even though the announcement happened just a few hours ago, the community reaction has already been loud and positive. Fans were joking about expecting NG+ in 2026 or alongside Legends, so getting it in under two months has everyone pretty excited. Some players had even paused their runs around Act 2 or Act 3 specifically to save content for NG+.

What Is Included in the Nov 24 Update

Here is a quick overview of the confirmed features:

  • Harder difficulty mode
  • 30+ cosmetics, including armor sets and weapon dyes
  • 10 new charms
  • New currency: Ghost Flowers (can be exchanged for cosmetics)
  • New vendor for new cosmetics and upgrades
  • Additional upgrade tier for armor and weapons
  • Replayable missions in the post-game
  • New Photo Mode tools (shutter speed, grid, filters)
  • New accessibility options, including directional button remapping
  • Two new Trophies, in a separate list, so your Platinum stays untouched

Online, fans started to joke about how a difficulty mode “harder than Lethal” will even work, since Lethal is already close to a one-hit setting. Plenty of memes revolve around “Double Lethal” and “Lethaling”.

Players Are Already Excited – and for Good Reason

Overall, players are super excited to have a reason to return. Many want more loadouts, more armor dyes, or extra open-world encounters to match the new gear. Naturally, however, a few hope this update already leads into Legends 2 or another future DLC. On top of that, there is also a growing number of PC players hoping for a port.

Most importantly, though, the update gives Ghost of Yōtei another push in replay value. Between NG+, mission replay, and new gear, there is now plenty to do for anyone heading back into Ezo.
