The hype for GTA 6 just keeps growing, and now Take-Two has doubled down on the release date. In a recent CNBC interview, CEO Strauss Zelnick said that he is “very, very high” on confidence that Grand Theft Auto VI will arrive as planned on May 26, 2026.
He also touched on the sky-high expectations Rockstar faces:
“We try not to pump expectations… I think Rockstar’s whole stock and trade is to have these extraordinary expectations and still beat them. I know it’s going to be an amazing game. The rest we’ll see in the fullness of time.”

Jason & Lucia – Fan Theories Are Heating Up

- Lucia – Confident, ambitious, and sometimes reckless. She is the one pitching bold, high-risk ideas for their criminal ventures.
To no surprise, fans on the GTA6 Reddit point to their trailer exchange as proof of their dynamic. When Jason says, “If we do this… we are going to do this right,” it feels like he is reining in Lucia’s wilder ideas with a more careful approach.
Fans see this back-and-forth as a big part of the game’s appeal – Lucia comes up with the big moves, and Jason figures out how to pull them off. That mix of risky ideas and careful planning could give GTA 6 a really good, new story dynamic.
