After weeks of silence following the second trailer, GTA VI has officially become available on the Xbox Store, and no, you’re not dreaming.

Xbox Series X/S players can now wishlist GTA VI and even “download” a 328MB file linked to the game. While it is not a playable version, it can be seen as a key that brings the highly anticipated game one step closer to reality! It’s undeniable: GTA VI is on its way!

What’s Actually Included in the GTA VI Xbox Store Page?

The store page listing includes:

  • The second trailer and game description
  • Screenshots and cover art
  • A “Not Currently Available” purchase button
  • A working wishlist button
  • A 328.76MB download, accessible via the Xbox app

Although the file can be installed now, it’s just a placeholder, which is usually standard for major titles ahead of preloading. Attempting to open the file will simply show the game’s splash screen for a second before closing with an error.

How To Wishlist or Download GTA VI on Xbox

  • Head to the Xbox Store (console or web).
  • Click the Wishlist button.
  • If you want the pre-preload file, use the Xbox app to install it remotely.

That’s it. GTA VI is now sitting on your dashboard, even if it’s just a digital dream for now.

No Pre-Orders Yet, But They’re Coming

Despite having a confirmed release date of May 26, 2026, pre-orders are still not live. Rockstar and Take-Two are likely holding off until a future marketing plan, perhaps a third trailer or specific gaming conference, later this year.

The PlayStation Store page was available earlier, but Xbox fans had to wait nearly seven weeks. Now that both platforms have listings, players are starting to feel like this thing is really happening.
